Elisha Cuthbert
By admin | March 11, 2008
Elisha Ann Cuthbert (born November 30, 1982) is a Canadian actress. Cuthbert is known as the former co-host of the Canadian children’s television series Popular Mechanics for Kids, and for her role as Kim Bauer in the American action-thriller television series 24. She had her first lead role in the 2004 feature film The Girl Next Door.
Elisha Cuthbert was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Patricia, a homemaker, and Kevin, an automotive design engineer. She has two younger siblings, Jonathan and Lee-Ann and grew up in Greenfield Park, near Montreal, Quebec. In 2000, she graduated from Centennial Regional High School and moved to Los Angeles at the age of seventeen to pursue an acting career.
When she was seven, Elisha Cuthbert started modeling for various lines of children’s clothing and also became a foot model. She made her first televised appearance as an extra in the horror-themed series for children Are You Afraid of the Dark?; she later became a series regular. Elisha Cuthbert also co-hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids, which was filmed in Montreal. Her reporting captured the attention of then-First Lady Hillary Clinton, who invited her to visit the White House.
Elisha Cuthbert landed her first role in a feature film in the family drama Dancing on the Moon (1997). She appeared in several other Canadian family-themed movies and an airplane thriller, Airspeed. Elisha Cuthbert starred in the Canadian television movie Lucky Girl in 2001 and was awarded a Gemini Award for her performance.
Soon after her move to Los Angeles, Elisha Cuthbert was cast in the role of Kim Bauer, daughter of CTU agent Jack Bauer in the television series 24. She appeared in the show’s first three seasons, but not in its fourth; she guest-starred in only two episodes in the fifth season. She also reprised her role as Kim Bauer in 24: The Game. She has also said that she would like to play her role as Kim in the upcoming movie, 24: The Movie.
Elisha Cuthbert auditioned for the role of Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man film, but the role went to Kirsten Dunst.[4] She began her Hollywood film career with small roles in Old School and Love Actually in 2003.
Elisha Cuthbert’s next film, The Girl Next Door, cast her in her first lead role as an ex-porn star, Danielle, alongside Emile Hirsch. Elisha Cuthbert had initial reservations about taking the part, but was persuaded by director Luke Greenfield into accepting. She researched the role, speaking to actual adult actresses from Wicked Pictures and Vivid Entertainment. Upon its release the film received comparisons to Risky Business] – although Elisha Cuthbert claims her character was not directly based on Rebecca De Mornay’s character – and was noted for Elisha Cuthbert’s sex appeal. Critics were divided; some praised the film for its boldness, while others, notably Roger Ebert, decried it as gimmicky and exploitative. Ebert wrote that he saw Elisha Cuthbert’s character Danielle as “quite the most unpleasant character I have seen in some time.” The film has since become a cult classic.
In her next big-screen outing, Elisha Cuthbert starred with Paris Hilton and Chad Michael Murray in the 2005 remake of the classic horror film House of Wax. Elisha Cuthbert, along with the rest of her castmates, was made up to look haggard. In one scene, her character was to attempt to open her mouth while her lips were sealed with glue. For the sake of realism, Elisha Cuthbert opted for real superglue over prosthetics. Despite her efforts, House of Wax was largely panned, with critics citing a range of flaws. It was called “notable for having some of the most moronic protagonists ever to populate a horror film,” though out of those characters reviews tended to think Elisha Cuthbert “fares the best”. Others noted Elisha Cuthbert as an “exception” playing her role “earnestly” and “fine”.
Elisha Cuthbert’s next film project was the indie film The Quiet, which she not only co-starred in but also co-produced and helped finance. She played Nina, a temperamental 17-year-old cheerleader who suffers from sexual abuse. Elisha Cuthbert looked to her younger cousin for inspiration as to how to play a teenager. The Quiet, distributed by Sony Pictures Classics, premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival and received a limited release in Los Angeles and New York City on August 25, 2006, before expanding regionally on September 1.
Elisha Cuthbert had also screen tested for the role of Lois Lane in Superman Returns, but she lost the part to Kate Bosworth. She had also been turned down for the lead in Fantastic Four.
Elisha Cuthbert appeared in the music video for Weezer’s “Perfect Situation” in early 2006, where she played the group’s fictional original singer who threw a tantrum that led to Rivers Cuomo, the unlikely roadie, becoming the frontman of the band.Elisha Cuthbert also had a small role in Paris Hilton’s music video for the song “Nothing In This World”.
In 2007, Elisha Cuthbert appeared in the film, Captivity, a thriller centered around a fashion model taunted by a psychopath who has imprisoned her in a cellar – of which she was nominated by Razzies as worst actress.
In He Was a Quiet Man, Elisha Cuthbert played, Vanessa, a quadriplegic. The film was in limited release in 2007 and release on dvd in early 2008.
Elisha Cuthbert is slated to voice Cleo, “the feline daughter of a wealthy kitty litter baron”, in Cat Tale, an animated film set in a civilized world of cats and dogs.
For 2008, Elisha Cuthbert is scheduled to appear in two films. The first is the family comedy The Six Wives of Henry LeFay with actor Tim Allen, in which she plays his daughter. She will also appear in My Sassy Girl, starring alongside Jesse Bradford.
She is also one of the stars in the Canadian mini-series Guns, due to premiere sometime in 2008.
Elisha Cuthbert has plans to return for the movie version of 24, playing her character Kim Bauer.
Elisha Cuthbert, who enjoys painting, is a devoted ice hockey fan and Los Angeles Kings season ticket holder, as are her mother and brother, Jonathan, who is active in the sport. She maintained her own blog on the NHL’s web site. She was previously in a relationship with New York Rangers hockey player Sean Avery,
She regularly secures a place in FHM and Maxim’s annual Top 100 Sexiest/Hottest lists. Her highest ranking was #5 in the 2005 UK Edition of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World list. She was ranked #14 in 2003, #10 in 2004, #22 in 2006, and #10 in 2007. The U.S. Edition ranked her #53 in 2003, #63 in 2004, and #54 in 2006. She was not listed in the U.S. 2005 list. Maxim magazine named her #92 in its 2006 Hot 100 list, and features her in their Girls of Maxim Gallery. As of 2006, Elisha Cuthbert has stated that she would refuse to be photographed nude in film roles or magazines, and uses body doubles whenever necessary, specifying that she would “like to keep some things to [herself]”. Most recently, Elisha Cuthbert was ranked #10 by AskMen.com readers in the list “Top 99 Women of 2007″.

Mini Biography
Born in Pomona, California, on April 28, 1981, Jessica Alba and her family moved to Biloxi, Mississippi, when she was an infant. Three years later, her Air Force father brought the family back to California, then to Del Rio, Texas, before finally settling in Southern California when Jessica was nine. In love with the idea of becoming an actress from the age of five, she was 12 before she took her first acting class. Nine months later, she was signed by an agent. A gifted young actress, Jessica has already played a variety of roles ranging from light comedy to gritty drama since beginning her career. She made her feature film debut in 1993 in Hollywood Pictures’ comedy Camp Nowhere (1994). Originally hired for two weeks, she got her break when an actress in a principal role suddenly dropped out. Jessica cheerfully admits it wasn’t her prodigious talent or charm that inspired the director to tap her to take over the part - it was her hair, which matched the original performer’s. The two-week job stretched to two months, and Jessica ended the film with an impressive first credit. Two national TV commercials for Nintendo and J.C. Penney quickly followed before Jessica was featured in several independent films. She branched out into TV in 1994 with a recurring role in Nickelodeon’s popular comedy series “The Secret World of Alex Mack” (1994). She played an insufferable young snob, devoted to making life miserable for the the title character, played by Larisa Oleynik. That same year, she won the role of “Maya” in “Flipper” (1995) and filmed the pilot for the series. She spent 1995 shooting the first season’s episodes in Australia. An avid swimmer and PADI-certified scuba diver, Jessica was delighted to be doing a show that allowed her to play with dolphins. The show’s success guaranteed it a second season, which she also starred in. Her involvement in the show lasted from 1995 to 1997. Since the show ended, she has appeared in a number of TV shows and films. In 1996, she appeared in Venus Rising (1995) as “Young Eve”. The next year, she appeared on the “The Dini Petty Show” (1989), a Canadian talk show, and spoke about her role in “Flipper” (1995) and her general acting career. She began working on P.U.N.K.S. (1999), featuring Randy Quaid, in 1998. In early 1998, she appeared in “Brooklyn South” (1997) as “Melissa”. That same year, she was in two episodes of “Beverly Hills, 90210″ (1990) as “Leanne” and in two episodes of “The Love Boat: The Next Wave” (1998). She appeared in “Teen Magazine” in 1995 and various European magazines in the following several years. More importantly, she was featured in the February 1999 issue of “Vanity Fair” magazine. She also had major roles in two movies that year: Never Been Kissed (1999) and Idle Hands (1999). In 2000, she had roles in Paranoid (2000/I) and starred in the sci-fi TV series “Dark Angel” (2000).

Personal Quotes
I’m really good at being sarcastic with guys. That’s the best way to hang out with them, because that’s what guys like. They don’t want the quiet, prissy little things.
I like Spongebob Squarepants. He’s goofy, like me.
[July 2004] I just don’t have a great feeling about what we’re doing in Iraq. I don’t know why we’re there. Didn’t we just give the power back over there? Why are we still there?
[on racial stereotyping] My father is Mexican and very dark; my mother is very fair. I used to always get [script] breakdowns for things like Maria, the janitor’s daughter who hangs around with white kids. I was born in the United States. I never thought about it until the industry made me think about being a Latin girl. It seemed like such a bizarre thing.
My grandfather was the only Mexican at his college, the only Hispanic person at work and the only one at the all-white country club. He tried to forget his Mexican roots, because he never wanted his kids to be made to feel different in America. He and my grandmother didn’t speak Spanish to their children. Now, as a third-generation American, I feel as if I have finally cut loose.
Men are much bigger divas than women. When I used to do the action scenes in “Dark Angel” (2000) I would have to play it rough. If you hit an actress accidentally, she would usually take it on the chin and say, “Don’t do that again.” But with the guys, they would put ice on it, take a 20-minute break and ask for X-rays. It was unbelievable. I would tell them, “Come on, man, get over it.” That’s actors for you.
There is always an unspoken problem about casting Latina actresses. I have heard Jennifer Lopez talk about how it was for her, always being up for the role of the Latina chick.
What happens when the looks fade?. If I don’t establish myself as someone who can act a part rather than look the part, I will soon be finished.
I love listening to Coldplay. But sometimes I listen to it too much and it depresses me. I call it a “reflective” mood.
The most important thing I have learned in life was that being a teenager wasn’t forever. I had a hard time being a teenager.
I don’t hang out with the Hollywood cool people. I’m not out trying to make friends with people because they’re famous.
I have my own spiritual thing, but am not part of an organized religion. I think religion is very special and individual to each person.
I don’t need to be in the press or seen. Just because I’m not in magazines or because I’m not in a movie doesn’t mean I’m going away. It just means I have some sense of integrity.
Living in L.A., everyone likes to mold you and change you. I don’t care about fame, I don’t care about being a celebrity. I know that’s part of the job, but I don’t feed into anyone’s idea of who I should be.
I used to come to Beverly Hills for auditions as a kid and think, “Why don’t I live here? Why don’t I drive that car?”
I wasn’t given a whole lot in my life. I was on the bottom of the class system. But I got wisdom. I never just did what people told me. I questioned everything. When I look back, it is really no surprise that I started working at 12.
From a very early age, I remember thinking that adults were always acting like assholes. I couldn’t understand why I had to respect them. My pre-school teacher forced me to write right-handed when I was left-handed. I didn’t get why I had to change. Nobody could give me a reason. I have had a big problem with authority ever since.
[oeing raised by young parents] We all grew up together. My parents were so young. My dad hates it when I talk about our past, about not having things, living with grandma, wearing thrift-store clothes, cutting coupons.
[on learning Spanish] I have a great accent because I grew up hearing it in the neighborhood. But I have no idea what I’m saying.
[on growing up in L.A.] I never really belonged anywhere. I wasn’t white. I was shunned by the Latin community for not being Latin enough. My grandfather was the only one in our family to go to college. He made a choice not to speak Spanish in the house. He didn’t want his kids to be different.
It’s not always so great to be objectified but I don’t feel I have much of a choice right now. I’m young in my career. I know I have to strike when the iron is hot. I look forward to the day when I can do a small movie and act and it’s not about me wearing a bathing suit or chaps.
One of the reasons why I chose not to be a devout Christian is because a lot of people gave me a lot of grief for just being a woman and made me feel ashamed for having a body because it tempted men. I didn’t understand what that meant because I was like, “God created this . . .” Yhat was a hard time in my life.
I just didn’t like the damsel-in-distress thing. I could relate to young girls wanting to see her take care of herself. And because I’m so good at action, I talked the writer and producer and director into throwing together a little fight sequence. It ended up taking three more weeks to shoot it. But at least I’m not tied up and asleep until my knight in shining armor comes and saves me. So I thought it was cool.
My whole life, when I was growing up, not one race has ever accepted me. So I never felt connected or attached to any race specifically. I did grow up in a Mexican-American culture, but my mom [who’s of French and Danish descent] was there the whole time. I mean, I had a very American upbringing, I feel American, and I don’t speak Spanish. So, to say that I’m a Latin actress, OK, but it’s not fitting; it would be insincere. If you’re going to look genetically, I’m actually less Latin than Cameron Diaz, whose father is from Cuba. But she’s not getting called a Latin actress because she’s got blond hair and blue eyes.
The movies that I do are usually physically demanding in one way or another. It’s a good way to keep your health on track. Especially when you’ve been on-set for 14 hours, it’s nice to relieve that stress in another way than having to rely on a big meal and wine.
Thank you to the fans. I do movies for you. Practice safe sex and drive hybrids if you can.
My first kiss was when I was 7, and it was scandalous because he was 10! I only did it so he would pick me on our neighborhood baseball team. And at the time, I thought it was great, but then it sucked because he didn’t even pick me!
Men’s magazines have nipples so why don’t women have a magazine where men show their penises? There’s Playgirl but not a fashion magazine like Elle. If there was a magazine like that I’d buy it. Nudity’s not a big deal to me . . . I’ve said I won’t go naked in any of my movies, because I don’t want to. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to see other people strip off!
It’s porn [Good Luck Chuck (2007)]. There were all these actresses who got conned into being completely naked. Some were strippers, probably. But every day when I was done, I ran away. I was like, “Bye”. As long as they didn’t disrespect me, I could give a rat’s butt.

Jessica Biel
By admin | March 6, 2008

Jessica Claire Biel (born March 3, 1982) is an American actress and former fashion model, perhaps best known for appearing in several Hollywood films such as Summer Catch, the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Illusionist, as well as for her television role as Mary Camden in the long-running family-drama series 7th Heaven.
Biel was born in Ely, Minnesota, the daughter of Kimberly “Kim” (née Conroe) and Jonathan Edward Biel, an entrepreneur. Biel, who has a younger brother, Justin, grew up in Boulder, Colorado, where her family had moved when she was very young. She is of Choctaw, German, French, and English descent.
Biel initially trained to become a vocalist with the hope of performing in musical theater and appeared in several musicals at an early age including The Sound of Music, Annie, Beauty and the Beast and Anything Goes. It was not until Biel attended the International Modeling and Talent Association Convention in Los Angeles in 1994 when her career started to take off as a fashion model.
Biel’s first big break came when at 14 years old she landed the role of Mary Camden on the WB TV Series 7th Heaven. The family drama from Aaron Spelling and Brenda Hampton became the most popular series on the fledgling network. Jessica’s film career also began at age 15 when she played alongside Peter Fonda in his Golden Globe winning performance in Ulee’s Gold (1997). Aside from acting, Jessica became a spokesmodel for L’Oréal cosmetics in 2002.
In 2000, Biel posed topless in a layout of Gear magazine, although she did not actually appear frontally nude. It was nonetheless controversial because she was only 17 at the time of the shoot. Her frustration and fear about being typecast was one of the reasons that led to her decision. She blamed her saintly image on 7th Heaven for limiting her film career, including losing a lead role in American Beauty, which eventually went to Thora Birch. Jessica also hoped that by posing she would get out of her 7th Heaven contract, which she accomplished. She later said she regretted posing for the magazine and regards it as a learning experience. Jessica returned to 7th Heaven full time for the 2001—2002 season and then focused her attention on her movie career and has made minimal TV appearances since then. In 2002, she also had a role in the film The Rules of Attraction based on a novel by Bret Easton Ellis.
After her departure from 7th Heaven, she accepted the role of Erin Hardesty in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). The movie was met with moderate critical attention, but was successful commercially making over 80 million dollars stateside with its 9 million dollar budget. She has also had starring roles in Blade: Trinity (2004) and Stealth (2005), the latter of which was a box-office flop, losing $99 million USD. In March 2005, casting for Revolution Studios’s big-budget remake of John Carpenter’s The Fog was underway. Biel was rumored to be up for the part of Elizabeth Solley (a part originated by scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis). Later reports stated Biel did not want to do any more horror films. The role eventually went to Maggie Grace of Lost.[3] Turning down the role proved to be a wise move: the remake was a box office flop as the film was nearly universally panned for its shallow plot and poor acting. As of January 2006, the film has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 5%. After a nearly three year absence, Jessica surprised her fans by making one final appearance in the series finale of 7th Heaven in May 2006. The series was later renewed, at last minute, for an 11th and, as it turned out, final season. Biel did not make any future appearances in the show.
After several indifferent feature films, her film career finally blossomed when she played a turn-of-the-century duchess in The Illusionist (2006), which received good reviews and generated a profit at the box office.[4] In 2006, she also starred Home of the Brave, about soldiers returning from Iraq,[5] premiered in Los Angeles on December 5, 2006.[6] She next co-starred opposite Adam Sandler and Kevin James in the comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, which went to number one at the box office, making 34 million dollars in its opening weekend, followed by Next, which also starred Nicholas Cage and Julianne Moore. She is slated to appear in at least two more films in 2008: A Woman of No Importance, based on the play by Oscar Wilde about a woman’s past which comes back to haunt her when the man who left her with a child becomes the potential employer of their illegitimate son. Taking over Lindsay Lohan’s part, it is set to begin filming in the fall of 2007. She’ll also appear in Powder Blue, opposite Forest Whitaker, about four desperate individuals who intersect in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve. She was supposedly offered the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming Justice League film, but (according to one report) she turned the role down. She signed up United Artists’s upcoming movie Die a Little.
Biel attended the exclusive private Lycée Français de Los Angeles high school but graduated from Concord High School in Santa Monica, CA. In fall 2000, she enrolled in an undergraduate study at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Having attended Tufts during fall 2000, spring 2001 and fall 2002 semesters, she left before completing a degree program to concentrate on her acting career.

Jane March
By admin | December 1, 2007

Has a brother named Jason (b. 1970). Measurements: 35-22-34 (Source: Celebrity Sleuth magazine). Actress filmography: Beauty and the Beast (2003) Freya, Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula (2000) (TV) Lidia, Provocateur (1998) Sook Hee/Miya, Tarzan and the Lost City (1998) Jane Porter, Never Ever (1996) Amanda Trevane Murray, Color of Night (1994) Rose, Amant, L’ (1992) The Young Girl aka The Lover (UK).
She shocked us with her sex scenes in The Lover - now watch for this beauty’s even steamier trysts with Bruce Willis in The Color of Night. Jane March couldn’t be sure: Were her moves the right ones? Barely eighteen, she was acting in steamy sexual marathons for the movie The Lover, and “I just didn’t have any idea how to do a love scene,” the young beauty admits. March had been chosen from a photo on the cover of a London teen fashion magazine to play a difficult role that entailed simulating passionate lovemaking on a Paris soundstage. She says she wept through the entire ordeal. That was more than two years ago, and much has changed: March is now a married woman, and she recently completed her second film, The Color of Night. In this erotic thriller, she costars with Bruce Willis, who plays a psychologist whom she leads into a maze of sexual obsession and deceit. Once again, March was photographed in nude embraces, but this time she was relaxed enough to laugh.
“After The Lover, any love scene is TV - nothing!” Willis reportedly will reveal even more than his costar if the most explicit scenes shot for the film make the final cut - and March actually gave the macho actor some tips on the intricacies of on-camera couplings.
“It was so ironic - I had something to teach Bruce,” she says. ” I would tell him, ‘Come on, Bruce, position your body this way.’ Really, doing a love scene is very technical.”
March’s confidence was also buoyed when she fell rapturously in love with one of Willis’s best friends, Carmine Zozzora, coproducer of The Color of Night and president of Willis’s production company, Flying Heart Films. They met on the set, got engaged in just three weeks, and married soon after at Lake Tahoe. Willis and his actress wife, Demi Moore, attended, along with other close friends. “I fell in love, what can I say?” shrugs March, who had a boyfriend in Paris when she met Zozzora. “Getting married was the best day of my life, ever. We’re just the best together. Indestructible!” “It was the most natural thing,” adds Zozzora, who is thirty-five and comes from a blue-collar family in Delaware. “I’ve never felt anything so perfect.” The fact that March got swept away emotionally doesn’t mean she isn’t still a very independent young woman, she insists. March has actually been fending for herself since early adolescence. She and her older brother, Jason, lived in the London suburb of Pinner, “in the kind of normal brick house that children draw, with four windows and a door.” Her father’s job - constructing models of rigs for an oil company - ended when the firm went bankrupt. At thirteen, she was selling newspapers for pocket money. Her mom had to go to work stocking supermarket shelves at night. “I didn’t have her around and it was horrible,” March remembers. Dad, now a woodworking teacher, was forced to take a variety of odd jobs, including one making coffins. When she was fifteen, March decided to try modeling - seemingly an impossible goal for a girl who was only five-two. She welcomed the challenge and did manage to get magazine assignments. “I wasn’ t doing fashion shows, but I was working.” By the time she turned sixteen she was earning “great money” and proud of her independence. Modeling suited her. “I don’t know how to say it without offending anyone, but I didn’t want to live and die in the same place. I didn’ t want to have to work my butt off for peanuts with no reward at the end of the day. I wanted to see the world too, and I’ve done that.” While modeling, she also went on casting calls for movies and commercials, but was making no progress until Jean-Jacques Annaud’s wife saw her London magazine cover. Annaud, director of The Lover, was conducting a worldwide search for his female lead.
March was aware of what would be asked of her in the role. “I knew the Chinese man would be making love with the girl and there’d be shots of me naked and him naked - I didn’t know, it meant literally. I thought, Yeah, whatever. Turns out it was absolutely literally.” When the film opened in Europe, she became an instant celebrity. British tabloids devoted countless pages of print to speculations on whether March and her costar Tony Leung had really made love for the camera. “I went crazy,” she admits. Director Annaud coyly told the press “it’s up to you to decide,” which infuriated March even more. She says she realizes now, though, that his response was the smartest he could have given, because it made everybody want to see the movie. Those days seem far off now that she’s in love. She and Zozzora have just returned to their home in the Hollywood Hills after a skiing trip, her first. Since their marriage, they have been driving all over the western United States, stopping at whim, in Las Vegas one night, a remote small town the next. Zozzora, who is trying to coax his wife into wearing cowboy boots, says, “I think I’m too rugged for Jane. She’s kind of artsy.” “I’m not artsy,” protests March, who, at eighty-eight pounds, definitely looks delicate. “I did an art film. I’m not artsy.” Zozzora looks fondly at his wife. “I married an angel,” he says. “Oh, Carmine!” she scolds. “That’s going to sound so tacky!”

In a sea of blue-eyed blondes, Lindsay, with her low voice, green eyes and deep auburn hair was a standout, and had the distinction of being the first red-headed child to be signed by the prestigious modeling agency. Her freckled face is familiar from more than sixty television commercials including spots for The Gap, Jell-O, Pizza Hut, and Wendy’s. More television work quickly followed, including the series Healthy Kids. She played the long-running role of Ali Fowler in the daytime drama Another World, and also appeared on Guiding Light and The Bette Show, in which she co-starred as Bette Midler’s daughter. Lindsay also starred in Life Size, an ABC movie of the week along side Tyra Banks, as well as the Disney Channel movie, Get A Clue.
Lindsay earned a reputation as a charismatic and talented young actress when she played dynamic identical twins in Disney’s remake of The Parent Trap. In 2003, Lindsay starred in Disney’s remake of Freaky Friday, a role that was originated by Jodie Foster. Lindsay starred opposite Jamie Lee Curtis, who received a 2004 Golden Globe Nomination for her role in the film. Lindsay also appeared on the movie’s soundtrack singing the main theme song, ‘Ultimate.’
Lindsay starred in Disney’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen in 2004, in which she also can be heard singing two of the songs for the movie’s soundtrack. In addition, she also starred in the hit Mean Girls directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey. She hosted the 2004 MTV Movie Awards and won the award for Female Breakout Out Star. In 2005, Lindsay starred in Disney’s Herbie: Fully Loaded directed by Angela Robinson. Her most recent films include the comedy Just My Luck, as well as Robert Altman’s Prairie Home Companion co-starring Meryl Streep. She will next be seen in Chapter 27 with Jared Leto.
A triple threat, Lindsay has also followed her music aspirations and signed with Tommy Mottola’s Casablanca Records which produce her debut album titled, Speak, as well as her current album, released on December 6, 2005, A Little More Personal (Raw).
Lindsay Dee Lohan was born in Cold Spring Harbor, New York, on 2nd July 1986, to Dina Lohan and Michael Lohan. She began her career at age three as a Ford model, and also made appearances in over sixty television commercials, including spots for The Gap, Pizza Hut, Wendy’s, and Jell-O (opposite Bill Cosby). Lohan made her acting debut in 1996 as the third actress to play Ali Fowler in the television drama “Another World” (1964). Shortly afterward, she was hand-picked by Oscar-nominated writer Nancy Meyers as estranged twin sisters in an adaptation by Walt Disney Pictures of a novel by Erich Kästner, which marked Meyers’ directorial debut. Lohan’s first feature film, The Parent Trap (1998), a remake of The Parent Trap (1961), was a modest commercial success, earning her widespread critical acclaim, and a Young Artist award for Best Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film, as well as Blockbuster Entertainment and YoungStar award nominations. After signing a three-movie contract with Disney, she returned to the small screen to star in the made-for-TV movies Life-Size (2000) (TV) (opposite Tyra Banks) and Get a Clue (2002) (TV) (opposite Bug Hall). She also appeared as Rose in the pilot episode of the short-lived comedy series “Bette” (2000), which starred Bette Midler. In June 2001, Lohan took a brief hiatus from acting. Her music career was launched over a year later, when Estefan Enterprises made a five-album production deal with her in September 2002, and she signed a recording contract with the reactivated Casablanca Records. But Lohan was not turning her back on her blossoming acting career. Just over a month previously, she had been cast opposite Jamie Lee Curtis for another Disney adaptation of a novel, this time of a fantasy comedy by Mary Rodgers. Freaky Friday (2003), a remake of Freaky Friday (1976), was a huge hit (generating over US$160 million in worldwide box office receipts), and critics were spellbound by delightful performances from Lohan and Curtis (who went on to receive a Golden Globe nomination for her work). In addition, Lohan won the 2004 MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Female, as well as a Saturn award nomination and another Young Artist award nomination. Lohan relocated permanently to Los Angeles, California, between projects, and moved into an apartment with fellow actress Raven. She also dated pop star Aaron Carter for a short time. Lohan’s next acting role was the title character in the comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), a Disney adaptation of the novel by Dyan Sheldon. The film received scathing reviews upon its release and died a quick death at the box office, but even the harshest of critics were impressed by Lohan’s charming turn as aspiring actress Lola. Lohan’s next project, Mean Girls (2004) saw her reunite with Freaky Friday (2003) director Mark Waters. Inspired by a non-fiction book by Rosalind Wiseman and written by “Saturday Night Live” (1975) scribe Tina Fey, the high-school comedy-drama opened to glowing reviews, and grossed $86 million in the US. This earned her status as a bankable actress, and a salary of $7.5 million for the Donald Petrie romantic comedy _Just My Luck (2005)_ . One of the most sought-after young actresses in the industry, she is staring in _Bobby (2006)_ (opposite Nick Cannon), _Fashionistas (2005)_ (based on the novel by Lynn Messina), the high school dramas Dramarama (2006), _Gossip Girl (2006)_ (based on the novel by Cecily von Ziegesar), and the Disney fantasy adventure _Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005)_ (a pseudo-sequel to The Love Bug (1968)). On top of a thriving film career, Lohan released her debut album, called “Speak,” which hit shelves in December 2004. In her spare time, Lohan enjoys swimming, basketball, shopping, singing, reading, writing, gymnastics, collecting Beanie Babies, roller-blading, and playing with her siblings Aliana, Dakota, and Michael Lohan.
